Frequently asked questions

What is Migraine Compass?

A migraine diary for Android. You log your attacks with pain intensity, aura, accompanying symptoms, possible triggers and medication taken. The calendar and statistics show you your history so that you can see patterns. With Plus you can create an overview for your doctor's appointment as a PDF.

Where is my data stored?

Only on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in and no cloud, and the app has no server of its own. The diary database is encrypted. The app is excluded from Android backup and from transfer to a new device, so your entries do not end up in a Google backup either.

Does the app need internet?

Not for free use: in the free version the app does not open any connection. There is only a connection when you open the weather with Plus. The app then requests the weather data from the weather service Open-Meteo and, for this, sends your location rounded to about 10 km and the time period – never your entries. More details are in the Privacy Policy.

What does Plus cost?

The price, term and renewal of Migraine Compass Plus are as stated in the store at the time of purchase; Google Play shows them to you before you complete the purchase. What Plus includes is in the Terms of Use. The basic features remain free.

How do I cancel Plus?

Through your Google account in the Play Store under Subscriptions. There you manage and cancel all subscriptions you have taken out through Google Play.

How do I delete my data?

You delete individual entries directly in the app: an attack together with its triggers, a medication, a reminder or a symptom entry. Important: if you delete an attack, the medication intakes and symptom entries recorded for it currently remain stored.

You delete all data at once by uninstalling the app or by choosing "Clear storage" for the app in the Android settings. There is no "delete all data" function in the app.

What happens with a new phone?

The app starts empty on a new device, because your data goes neither into a backup nor into a device transfer. You can export your data beforehand, for example as a complete JSON file. Importing into the app is currently not possible.

Does the app replace medical advice?

No. Migraine Compass is not a medical device and does not replace professional medical advice. The app helps you log your attacks and see your history; with health questions, please turn to your doctor.

In which languages is the app available?

In 14 languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Polish, Portuguese, Dutch, Romanian, Swedish, Czech, Hungarian and Ukrainian. The app follows the language of your phone.

How do I reach support?

By email to info@stavau.com. The app sends nothing along: it only opens your mail app with the address and subject, and you decide the content. Further contact details are in the Legal Notice.
